ABSTRACT:

Aamvata is most common chronic joint disease which is spreading now-a-days and affects the people in their most active period of life. The symptoms are produced due to the vitiation of Vata along with the formation of Aama. This Aama is carried by the aggravated Vata and deposited in shlemasthanas producing features like Angamarda, Aruchi, Sandhishoola, Sandhishotha etc. Modern medicine along with different analgesics and immunosuppresent drugs has limitations to the treatment along with hazardous side effects. Ayurveda treats it in safer way with minimal side effects. The treatment modalities like Langhana, Swedana, Deepana, Shodhana, Shamana are the treatment advised. AcharyaChakradatta had indicated VaitaranaBasti in Amavata. By using this Ayurvedchikitsa a case of female patient having features of Aamvata was successfully treated. No any complication was found during the treatment.
